11 vacant buildings that have been out of service for over five years, MED entered into a purchase agreement to buy and develop these properties in June 2013. Four of the buildings have since been custom-built for tenants provided through the Veterans Administration, while the other seven buildings are being renovated as a mix of market-rate and affordable housing units. The construction has progressed expeditiously over the past year and several buildings have been completed as of December 2014.
